Flavourful, fun and absolutely fabulous, this pot still rum is distilled at ... ha! We're not that easy. Distilled March 2008 and aged in a once-used bourbon cask, this is one of the most modern yet authentic pot still production facilities in Jamaica. Like a trip to a bakery, there are comforting and mouthwatering notes of Jamaican ginger cake, banana bread and warm buttery shortbread.
Tasting notes
Nose: Jamaican ginger cake and spiced molasses trickle through pineapple and buttery shortbread. Banana bread and dark syrup emerge among vanilla and a touch of red cola cubes.
Palate: A raft of tropical fruit emerges among breaks through thick treacle and a subtle earthy element. Charred oak and rich spice add depth with a little menthol backdrop.
Finish: Vanilla and a little marzipan linger.
Overall: Flavoursome and fun, this Secret Distillery edition really is very impressive stuff.
